Expert commentators

Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • Steven High, history professor and Canada Research Chair in the Faculty of Arts and Science, is quoted at length in a piece in Le Devoir about an online petition against the presentation of the Annabel Soutar stage-play Fredy without authorization from the late Fredy Villanueva's family.
  • Rebecca Duclos, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, is quoted in a piece in Le Monde about efforts in the academic world to bridge the gap between liberal arts and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).  It mentions a program developed by Duclos called Foyer: a physical space where students from all academic disciplines at Concordia can come together to discuss collaboration. The article includes a link to an earlier Maclean's article about the Foyer initiative.
  • Lucian Turcescu, chair of and professor in the Department of Theological Studies, was interviewed on Romanian Orthodox Church Trinitas TV about the art of teaching religion in Canada.
