Students
Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:
- Les affaires writes that a group of Concordia students will spend some time with investment magnate Warren Buffet at his Berkshire Hathaway office in Omaha, later this week. Buffet meets with groups of students about ten times a year to share some knowledge and wisdom. This Friday, it will be the turn of 15 students in the Kenneth Woods Portfolio Management program (KWPMP) at the John Molson School of Business. Program director Reena Atanasiadis, a senior lecturer of finance at the JMSB, tells the paper that the students will spend four hours with Buffet, who will answer their questions on numerous topics, including investment trends, geopolitics and the recent U.S. elections.
- Concordia student, Claudy Marie Pierre, studying management at the John Molson School of Business, is quoted in a piece in LaPresse.ca about the financial risk inherent in working summers as a student painting contractor. She tells her own story of financial loss as a summer painting contractor in a separate LaPresse.ca interview (bottom half of the page).
- The Université de Montréal student paper Quartier Libre reports that a recent interuniversity brewing competition named two winning teams of students for the best artisinal beer: one from Concordia (Les Brasseurs Illuminés) and the other from the ÉTS (GéniALE).
