Expert commentators

Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • Marc Lafrance, associate professor of anthropology in the Faculty of Arts and Science, was a guest on Radio Canada's 'Médium Large' program this morning. He was commenting yesterday's conference, at Place des Arts, with Maria Alyokhina and Sasha Bogino of Pussy Riot. The interview is scheduled to begin at 10:40 this morning.
  • Damon Matthews, associate professor of Geography, Planning and Environment in the Faculty of Arts and Science, was interviewed for a report that aired on the Montreal CTV News at Six, last evening. The piece focused on U.S. president-elect Donald Trump's stance on the Paris Accord and Trump's rejection of climate science. Please note that Matthews was misidentified as "Hugues Morin", who appears earlier in the news report. Matthews himself appears at the one-minute-mark and is quoted, and correctly identified, in the accompanying text story.
  • Graham Dodds, associate professor of political science in the Faculty of Arts and Science, delivered his morning-after impressions of Donald Trump's election victory yesterday on Montreal Breakfast Television (reprised by MSN video). Dodds appeared again, later in the program, in a panel discussion of the election result.
  • For the second time this week, Arvind Jain, professor of finance in the John Molson School of Business, was on CJAD's Aaron Rand Show yesterday. Jain talked about Trump's election and what it might mean for the economy (no link available).
  • FrogHeart and SCHED announce that professor emerita of anthropology Homa Hoodfar was a keynote speaker, yesterday, at the 2016 Canadian Science Policy Conference started in Ottawa. Hoodfar's talk centered on science, human rights and academic freedom.
  • The Irish Times publishes Emer O'Toole's perspective on the Trump election victory.
