• CBC Homerun's Sue Smith interviews McGill professor Cristian Zaelzer-Perez (no link available) about the Convergence Initiative, of which he is founder and director. The project is the result of a partnership including Concordia's Faculty of Fine Arts and the FOFA Gallery. It involves intersecting art and neuroscicence to give students the opportunity to communicate their research, learn, and acquire a broader perspective on their work.
• The Montreal Gazette names Susan Palmer, affiliate professor of religion in the Faculty of Arts and Science, among the researchers at the newly-created Centre for expertise and training in religious fundamentalism and radicalization (CEFIR, in French). The three-year project, involving four south-shore colleges, brings together teachers, students and researchers to work on prevention of religious extremism among vulnerable students. The CEFIR project is reported also in Le Rive-Sud Express.
• A MarketWired news release lists Lost Stories among the projects across the country that have received funding through the Canada 150 Fund. The Lost Stories project, headed by Ronald Rudin, history professor in the Faculty of Arts and Science and co-director of the Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling, involves collecting little-known stories of Canadians that will be published for Canada Day, 2017. The release is picked up by Sys-Con Media, Digital Journal, Jacksonville.com.
