Various issues concerning Concordia University are often reported on by news outlets. Here is the most recent coverage pertaining to the institution:

  • La Presse Canadienne reports that Quebec international relations minister Christine St-Pierre, responding to Opposition criticism of the Quebec government for inaction in the Homa Hoodfar case, will deffer to Ottawa for a diplomatic solution to the imprisonment, in Iran, of the retired Concordia professor. The article is picked up by Radio-Canada.ca, LaPresse.ca, L'actualité and Journal Métro. La Stampa (in Italian) picks up the story of the arrest.
  • Psychology professor Shimon Amir writes a letter to the editor in the Montreal Gazette in response to an earlier Gazette editorial calling for Hoodfar's immediate release. Amir reflects on what he says is the irony of Hoodfar recently signing petitions calling for a boycott against and sanctioning of Israeli academic institutions and insists that academic freedom must be universal.
  • Concordia's District 3 Innovation Centre is mentioned and District 3 director Xavier Henri Hervé is quoted in an article in Techvibes about business startup accelerators in Montreal.
  • La Métropole picks up an earlier release from Quartier de l'innovation announcing new projects for the city and listing Concordia among the partners that have joined the QI since its creation in 2013.
  • The University of the Streets Café program of the Office of Community Engagement at Concordia is mentioned in Rabble as a co-organizer of A Creative Conversation About Basic Income, to be held Bar Le Ritz, on Wednesday, July 27 at 6 p.m. The conversation will be moderated by Alex Megelas, from the Office of Community Engagement, and Risa Dickens, an alumna. It will also include the participation of Christine Beckett, associate professor in the Department of Music, and Jamie Robinson, from Concordia's Off-Campus Housing and Job Bank.
