Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- CBC.ca, reprised by Yahoo! News, writes about an apparent invasion of forest tent caterpillars in the Montreal region and quotes Emma Despland, associate professor in the Department of Biology, who states that the forest tent caterpillar is harmless to humans.
- Thanh Dang Vu, professor in the Department of Exercise Science, is quoted in a piece in The Toronto Star about a lack of sleep reported among Canadians. He says sleep helps us maintain an optimal immune system. The article is reprised by Inside Halton, Our Windsor and Hamilton Community News.
- Michel Magnan, professor in the Department of Accountancy at the John Molson School of Business, is quoted in a report in LaPresse.ca following the release of a new study on the financial impact of the Grand Prix du Canada. Magnan says the report offers new information that should allow for a debate of the government involvement in financing the annual event.
