  • Canada Standard joins ongoing coverage of new Concordia research on the energy savings that result from roofing buildings with reflective, light-coloured surfaces. The senior author of the study, Hashem Akbari, professor in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the study's co-author, Concordia PhD candidate Mirata Hosseini, have shown how a cool roof can reduce energy consumption and heating costs in both southern and northern climates.
  • An article in Munchies (Vice) describing recent research into binge eating, references a recent Concordia study whose authors, led by Nadia Chaudhri, professor in the Department of Psychology, examined how conditioned responses to alcohol may encourage addiction. The article links to an earlier piece about the Concordia study in Psychology Today.
  • Investors Hangout posts a release announcing what are deemed "positive results" from clinical trials of the Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator (PoNS), designed by Helius Medical Technologies. It notes the trials were conducted at Concordia's PERFORM Centre. The PoNS device treats neurological symptoms of multiple sclerosis by stimulating the cranial nerves in the tongue to improve a patient's balance and gait.
