Various issues concerning Concordia University are often reported on by news outlets. Here is the most recent coverage pertaining to the institution:
- A CNW release announces that the Société du Quartier de l'innovation de Montréal (QI), resulting from a partnership between Concordia, École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) and McGill, has been selected by Le Journal Le Monde as a runner-up for the grand prize in the urban innovation category of the newspaper's Smart Cities innovation awards. The release is picked up by Money News, Shaw Connect and Le Lézard.
- AMEQ en ligne (behind a paywall) picks up coverage of last week's unveiling of Zone Éducation-Culture — a new educational partnership between Concordia, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) and the City of Montreal. The Zone Éducation-Culture plan includes an open space to link Concordia's Hall building to the MMFA's future new Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion for Peace.
- Hundreds of university professors in Montreal, including more than 250 at Concordia, have signed an open letter, posted on WordPress by the student association for graduate students of the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment at Concordia (GEOGRADS), expressing opposition to any shift in university funding from the public model to one that would be privately-funded.
