Students

Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:

  • Dominique Pelletier, who recently completed a master's thesis about Montreal's calèche industry and is herself a calèche driver, was interviewed this morning for CTV's Canada AM (no link available) about the Montreal calèche ban, now in effect.
  • Concordia design student Shayna Dwor is featured in a piece in the Montreal Gazette that looks at Dwor's quest for relief from symptoms she believes are caused by Lyme disease. Dwor's case is referenced in the newspaper's report on a recent conference in Ottawa that brought together government officials, medical practitioners and patients to consider a federal framework on Lyme disease. The piece is reprised by Canada.com.
  • Concordia student Valerie Villeneuve appears in a CTV Montreal story (video and text) about a recent award to the City of Pointe-Claire, honoured by the Quebec Union of Municipalities for a program pairing young people and seniors. Villeneuve appears at the 17-second and 2-minute marks of the report.
  • Le Droit reports that Stingers football player Mikael Charland has signed a contract with the CFL's Ottawa Redblacks. The report also mentions Stingers player Arto Khatchikian, selected by the Redblacks along with Charland at the recent CFL draft.
