  • There is continuing coverage of new research from Concordia that investigates treatment methods for anxiety disorders, led by psychology researcher Hannah Levy, who will be graduating with a PhD in psychology this summer, and psychology professor Adam Radomsky. Levy and Radomsky developed new strategies for helping patients with anxiety problems. Radomsky discussed the research in an interview yesterday on CBC Montreal Radio's 'Homerun' (no link available). There is coverage also in Medical Daily, MSN Lifestyle, Carlisle Wellness Network, Bright Surf, Canada Standard, The Economic Times of India, Hindustan Times and Can-India. The studies were recently published in the Journal of Anxiety Disorders and are forthcoming in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
  • HighBeam Research (behind a paywall) joins coverage of Concordia research highlighting serious shortcomings of home computer antivirus software. The study, led by Mohammad Mannan, assistant professor in the Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE), and PhD student Xavier de Carné de Carnavalet, reveals how security software may be less efficient than up-to-date internet browsers at protecting computers.
  • Info-Culture and Cité Boomers, previewing numerous upcoming episodes of the Radio-Canada Première Chaîne program 'La nature selon Boucar', announces that Robert Weladji, associate professor in the Department of Biology, will appear on the program on Sunday, June 25, at 4 pm, to discuss how elephants manifest their awareness of death and mourn their dead.
