  • CBC.ca reports on the climate-change Countdown 2°C Clock projection, at the SGW campus, created by climate change researcher Damon Matthews, associate professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment, and musician David Usher. The projection of the climate clock can be seen this evening and again tomorrow on the façade of a building at de Maisonneuve and Guy, from dusk until midnight. The clock counts down the 28 years researchers, including Matthews, say it will take to reach the critical threshold of 2°C above the world’s pre-industrial temperature.
  • Science Daily joins media coverage of new Concordia research led by Onur Bodur and co-authored by marketing professor and Concordia Research Chair in Marketing Bianca Grohmann and graduate student Maryam Tofighi. The study, published in the Journal of Retailing, examines how consumers may be encouraged to buy more environmentally and socially-sustainable grocery store products.
  • A Concordia research project led by Thomas Walker, associate professor of finance and interim director of the David O’Brien Centre for Sustainable Enterprise (DOCSE), is listed by Le Journal l'Assurance among ten new research initiatives being supported through the Fonds pour l’éducation et la saine gouvernance (FESG). The Walker project involves drafting recommendations for new banking and financial rules for dealing with the aftermath of natural disasters.
