Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • The New York Times quotes Michel Magnan, accountancy professor and Stephen A. Jarislowsky Chair in Corporate Governance, in an article explaining the Panama Papers — the massive leak of documents from the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca, specialized in the creation and management of offshore financial accounts. Magnan tells the paper that while some may use offshore financial centres for legitimate tax efficiency purposes, their use, if pushed too far, can cross over into tax avoidance.
  • Thanh Dang-Vu, professor in the Department of Exercise Science, is quoted in an article in Quotidiano Sanita (in Italian) about a new study from People's Hospital in Guangzhou, China, of the causes, in the brain, of primary insomnia.
