Expert commentators

Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • The Province reprises an earlier story from the Montreal Gazette chronicling the evolution of black activism in Montreal. It  references the 1969 disturbances at Sir George Williams University over the university's response to allegations of racist behaviour by a professor. Clarence Bayne, professor in the John Molson School of Business, is quoted.
  • Luanne Martineau, associate professor of painting and drawing in the Faculty of Fine Arts, is interviewed for National Gallery of Canada Magazine about her art and political engagement.
  • The Tmblr site of English professor and poet David McGimpsey, in which he posts satirically photoshopped Canadian literature book covers, is featured in a BuzzFeed piece by Craig Silverman, BuzzFeed Canada founding editor and Concordia journalism alumnus.
  • Amanda Kellock, artist in residence for Concordia’s theatre program and a Concordia alumna (BFA, theatre), is featured in a piece in Montreal Times, focusing on her work with Concordia drama students on the ensemble performance piece, The Performance Creation Playground project. A review of The Playground project appears in a separate article in Montreal Theatre Hub.
