The scholarly work of Concordia faculty and researchers informs and improves society on many issues that affect our daily lives. Visit the Research section to read news stories involving research at Concordia, or read the most recent items here:
- AMEQ en ligne (behind a paywall) links to a Concordia news article about new research by accountancy professor Michel Magnan into the hidden costs associated with setting up corporate subsidiaries in offshore financial centres. The paper, co-written with Tiemei Li from the University of Ottawa and Art Durnev from the University of Iowa, shows that hidden costs of offshore ventures can offset any tax savings. The paper was published in the Journal of Corporate Finance.
- Coverage of a new Concordia study of the cognitive benefits to children of being bilingual as toddlers appears on another three regional websites of 'Public News Service': Michigan, Arkansas and Oregon. The paper, co-authored by Diane Poulin-Dubois, professor in the Department of Psychology, and Cristina Crivello, a graduate student with Concordia’s Centre for Research in Human Development (CRDH), was published in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology.
