  • AMEQ en ligne (behind a paywall) reports on work by Concordia researchers on software that allows public works managers and engineers to track the state of road, water and sewer infrastructure. The data can then be used to determine where, when and how to intervene with repairs and replacement. The paper was written by Khaled Shahata, a former graduate student, and Tarek Zayed, a professor in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering.
  • Several more media join the coverage of a new Concordia study of the cognitive benefits to children of being bilingual as toddlers. A group of Concordia researchers, led by Diane Poulin-Dubois, a professor in the Department of Psychology, and Cristina Crivello, a graduate student with Concordia’s Centre for Research in Human Development (CRDH), found that bilingual toddlers had an advantage over their monolingual peers in their cognitive development, notably in completing certain problem-solving tasks: Parents (France)Ouest FranceSciences et Avenir, The study was published in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology.
  • The Merkle lists Jeremy Clark, an assistant professor in the Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE) among the co-authors of Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies, which can be readhere. Clark wrote the preface to the book on digital currency technology.
