Expert commentators

Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • Jordan LeBel, an associate professor of marketing and director of the John Molson Executive MBA Program, and Zeynep Arsel, an associate professor of marketing and Concordia Research Chair in Consumption and Markets, are quoted in a piece in the Montreal Gazette about the rite, among lovers and friends, of chocolate-giving on Valentine's day. LeBel, who the article's author says holds a PhD in chocolate (LeBel holds a PhD in consumer psychology and marketing with a thesis about the relationship between pleasure and the consumption of chocolate) talks about the Valentine's Day marketing of new chocolate products for the discriminating palate. He is pictured in the article. Arsel reflects upon the material expression of love on Valentine’s Day, which she says has become a "Hallmark holiday".
  • Kyle Matthews, senior deputy director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS) at Concordia, was a guest of Mutsumi Takahashi yesterday on the CTV Montreal Noon News. Matthews shared his insight into the Trudeau government's plans to counter ISIS.
  • Graham Dodds, an associate professor in the Department of Political Science, offers his insight in a Radio-Canada.ca article profiling Republican U.S. presidential nomination hopeful Ted Cruz.
