Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- Daniel Salée, professor of political science in the School of Community and Public Affairs, is quoted in a Postmedia news report of a land claim settlement between the Quebec government and three Innu nations, covering an 8,000-square-kilometre area in the Saguenay and Côte Nord regions. The article is run by the National Post, the Montreal Gazette and MSN News.
- Global Montreal airs the complete interview with Jennifer Drummond, coordinator of Concordia's Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC), conducted for its weekend program 'Focus Montreal' as a complement to Global's coverage of the Jian Ghomeshi sex assault trial. Drummond talks about how the Criminal Code defines sexual consent and assault. The video is posted also by Yahoo! Canada.
- The Globe and Mail quotes Pierre Gauthier, associate professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment, in a piece about the continuing interest in the re-development of the old Silo No. 5 grain elevator in Montreal's Old Port. The article is reprised by 24news.ca and My Web Memo (under the wrong headline).
- Matt Soar, associate professor and BA programs director in the Department of Communication Studies, is quoted in an article in The Tampa Tribune about the decision by the NFL to drop Roman numerals from the Superbowl brand.
