Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:

  • The Montreal Gazette, Le Journal de MontrĂ©al, the National Post and MSN News report on a court-ordered award of $8-million to a former minor league hockey player, Andrew Zaccardo, who is currently engaged in part time studies in political science, at Concordia. Zaccardo won the award after suffering a severe injury during a hockey game that left him a quadriplegic. LaPresse.ca and CJAD.com report the award without mentioning Zaccardo's studies at Concordia.
  • Doctoral candidate and instructor in the Faculty of Fine Arts Verushka Lieutenant-Duval is quoted in an article in Le Devoir about a recent "John Mike Pollock": performance art where the artist drips different foods on a surface, such as a table or a nude person. The piece concerns itself with a recent event at Montreal's Tripes & Caviar restaurant, where a nude woman served as canvas for a "John Mike Pollock". Lieutenant-Duval is critical of such events, which she says play into the notion that it is men who define women.
  • Performance artist Gabriel Dharmoo, studying for a PhD in Concordia's individualized program (INDI), is profiled in a piece in the Vancouver Observer.
