Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- Kyle Matthews, senior deputy director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS) at Concordia, appeared on CBC's Power and Politics on Friday, December 18, to discuss Canada's withdrawal from airstrike operations against ISIS and whether this serves Canada's interests.
- Jean-Philippe Warren, an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, was interviewed yesterday for Radio-Canada's 'Gravel le matin' about Christmas nostalgia. He described how advertisers and others use nostalgia to keep children and their consumer-parents interested in Christmas as a mercantile venture — in a sense, promoting Christmas Past to ensure Christmas presents. Listen to Warren, starting at the 1:19:54 mark.
