  • Huffington Post Québec links to a video interview of Valérie De Courville Nicol, a professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, about her work on the social and other underpinnings of emotion and subjectivity. The introduction to the interview on InfoMotivation.com, focusing on what motivates people, states that De Courville Nicol is currently working on a study of anxiety and its treatment through popular self-help guides. It also references two of her books: Le soupçon gothique: l'intériorisation de la peur en Occident (2004) and Social Economies of Fear and Desire: Emotional Regulation, Emotion Management, and Embodied Autonomy (2011).
