Students

Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:

  • Art Education doctoral candidate Emanuelle Dufour is featured in an article in Journal Métro. The focus is on Dufour's recent work La nostalgie heureuse de Pointe-St-Charles, a seven-page black and white comic strip depicting moments in the lives of women in Pointe-St-Charles during the 1920's and 1930's. The article notes that Dufour created the strip as a project in Concordia's Right to the City program.
  • Engineering.com writes about the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge and mentions Concordia's entry in the competition, involving the development of a satellite to test the mechanical properties of self-healing materials in space. Winners of the competition will have a chance to send their mini satellite into orbit.
  • Blog TO writes that Junna Chif's Ms. Liliane (Mme Liliane) is listed among the top ten student short films at Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival, next month in Toronto.
  • A news brief in the Université de Montréal student paper Quartier Libre mentions that the CSU voted by referendum last month to join the ranks of the Association for the Voice of Education in Quebec (AVEQ), one of two student organizations vying to replace the Fédération étudiante universitaire du Québec (FEUQ).
  • An article accompanying a Cycling News podcast interview of former competitive cyclist Geneviève Jeanson mentions that Jeanson is currently studying neuroscience at Concordia. Jeanson talks about her cycling career and its abrupt end in 2007 after she admitted to long-term use of erythropoietin (EPO).
