- Worldwide media coverage continues of Concordia research led by Muthukumaran Packirisamy, professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, whose team has developed a power cell that harnesses electrical energy from the photosynthesis and respiration of blue-green algae. Reports on the alternative energy research appear in Le Devoir, Star Daily Standard, Observer Leader, HNGN, Newzy, The Voice Herald, Dispatch Tribunal, Techworm, Seating Chair, The South African, The Indian Republic, All India Roundup, India West, ABC.net (Australia), Gizmag and Numerama. The study, published in the journal Technology, is described also in a Le Devoir article about three alternative-energy innovations.
- Shaw Connect and Le Lézard repeat an earlier CNW release from the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal announcing the fifth edition of the Montreal Summit on Innovation (SMI 2015), taking place today at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. Concordia identified the theme for this year's summit — Climate (of) Change: Cities, People and Prosperity, reinventing Montreal in the face of climate change — and staff and faculty from the Office of Research developed the programming. President Alan Shepard, referenced in the release, launched the summit with the opening address.
- An opinion piece in The Daily Star (Bangladesh) about the cost to Bangladesh of climate change references a study co-authored by Damon Matthews, an associate professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and the Environment. The Matthews study identified different countries' contribution to global warming.
- The book Building Businesses in Emerging and Developing Countries: Challenges and Opportunities, co-authored by management professor Rick Molz and research associate Elie Chrysostome, is referenced in an article in Press Republican.
