• James Gavin, a professor in the Department of Applied Human Sciences and director of Concordia's Professional and Personal Coach Certification program, was interviewed on CJAD's Tommy Schnurmacher Show yesterday on the topic of life coaching, Concordia's program and why the profession has exploded in popularity.
• The Montreal Gazette reports that David McGimpsey, part-time faculty member in the Department of English, won the Quebec Writer's Federation's A.M. Klein Prize for Poetry for his collection, Asbestos Heights (Coach House Books). The Gazette also reports that McGimpsey will participate in the Atwater Writers Exhibition Holiday Pop-Up Book Fair (Friday, November 27, 2015, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.).
• Tribun Batam picks up coverage of a study of the workplace phenomenon of presenteeism, by management professor Gary Johns and University of East Anglia academic Mariella Miraglia, who examine the factors that spur people to report for work when they are sick.
