- Guy Lachapelle, a professor in the Department of Political Science and secretary general of the International Political Science Association, writes an analytical piece for the European Progressive Observatory about the recent federal election. Lachapelle focuses on the collapse of voter support for the NDP.
- Lois Baron, professor emeritus in the Department of Education, writes a letter to the editor of the Montreal Gazette in which she responds to a previous letter-writer who suggested that teachers should look at other professions before complaining about their own wages and working conditions. Baron replies that a teacherès responsibilities don't end when the bell rings and argues that the the teaching profession is a very demanding one and worthy of respect.
