  • Numerous media report on the work of  Lea Prevel Katsanis, a professor in the Department of Marketing at the John Molson School of Business, on the need for drug companies to reconsider their marketing strategies. Katsanis' marketing prescription for the pharmaceutical company is set out in her new book, Global Issues in Pharmaceutical Marketing (Routledge, 2016): Medical Xpress, News United, Pharminent, Bio Portfolio, WN.com and Pharmaceutical Processing.
  • Katsanis is cited in separate stories about a report on certain management practices at Valeant Pharmaceuticals International: the Montreal Gazette and the Financial Post. Her book, mentioned in the preceding item, is again referenced.
  • The Examiner (Texas) reports on a paper examining government raids on religious communities, co-authored by Susan Jean Palmer, an adjunct professor of sociology and religion and an alumna (PhD, religion). Palmer worked with Lamar University professor Stuart Wright on the study.
  • PharmiWeb picks up an earlier release that describes the work of researchers from Concordia, Hopital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal and the Montreal Chest Institute, led by Simon Bacon, a professor in the Department of Exercise Science, who found that a 12-week supervised aerobic exercise program for patients with asthma yielded significant improvements in asthma control. The release relates to the recent publication of a Concordia-led study according to which asthma symptoms can be relieved through regular exercise.
  • Academica links to a piece from University Affairs profiling Patrick Leroux, an associate professor in the Departments of English and Études françaises. The focus is on Leroux’s latest work, involving circus training as a means to encourage physical activity in children.
