Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- Bruce Hicks, a lecturer in the Department of Political Science, appears at the one-minute mark and again at the 1:54 mark of a Montreal CTV News report about the challenge facing Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe to win back his old riding of Laurier-Sainte-Marie in today's federal election. Hicks is also cited in the text version of the CTV report.
- The Brandon Sun (behind a paywall) reprises an analytical piece from last Tuesday's Winnipeg Free Press in which Mebs Kanji, associate professor in the Department of Political Science and Kerry Tannahill, a doctoral candidate in the department, discuss how Canadian voters' appetite for change could determine the outcome of the election.
- Rabble.ca publishes a piece by Matthew Hays, a part-time instructor in the Department of Cinema and the Department of Communication Studies, critical of the Globe and Mail for its political endorsement of the Conservative Party, but without its leader. The piece embeds a link to Hays' "counter endorsement" of the Harper Conservatives in the April 30, 2011 edition of the The Globe and Mail.
- Le Journal International (France) quotes Guy Lachapelle, a professor in the Department of Political Science and secretary general of the International Political Science Association, in a piece about the possible outcome of today's election.
