Students
Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:
- The Huffington Post publishes a blog entry by journalism students Matthew Heuman and Thierry Tardif about their VoteNote mobile application. The app uses GPS technology to identify a given voter's riding district and provide relevant riding information.
- Global News Montreal, reporting on the options available to voters on election day, talks to several Concordia students about the importance of voting. The unidentified students appear at the 1:14 mark. Journalism student Thierry Tardif also appears in the report, at the 2:03 mark, to talk about the Vote Note mobile app mentioned in the previous item.
- Concordia student Eric Davies is quoted in a Global News Montreal report about the suspension of AMT commuter train service in the west island during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Davies, who first appears at the 37-second mark, says spotty commuter train service forced him to move downtown from St-Anne-de-Bellevue to attend regular classes at Concordia.
- The Back of the Book webzine publishes a piece profiling two federal election campaign volunteers, both Concordians: Communications student Mira Ahmad, the campaign manager for Liberal candidate in Outremont riding, Rachel Bendayen; and political science student Nicole Cummings, also working for the Bendayen campaign.
- A Radio-Canada sports blogger writes about the decision by Frédérick Roy, son of former Canadiens goaltender Patrick Roy, to study at Concordia and play for the Stingers men's hockey team.
