Students

Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:

  • Computer Science student Hugo Cornellier continues to make news with his life-long project to chronicle the ageing process by taking a daily laptop selfie. MTV News, the latest to pick up the story, provides a time-lapse video of Cornellier as he grows from a 12-year old boy into a 20-year old man.
  • A CBC.ca profile of the Montreal riding of Saint-Léonard–Saint-Michel mentions that Concordia economics student Jean Philippe Fournier is carrying the Conservative Party banner in the riding for this month's federal election. The article is reprised by Yahoo! News.
  • The Suburban writes about the recent award of a bursary from Hydro-Quebec and the Foundation for Athletic Excellence to competitive wrestler Linda Morais, a student in the Exercise Science Program.
  • Laurence Parent, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Humanities and a member of the Critical Disability Studies working group at Concordia, is featured in a QMI article. Parent calls for special transit fares for reduced-mobility users and bases her demand on the argument that reduced-mobility users have less access to the transit system and its services. The article appears in Le Journal de Montréal and TVANouvelles.ca.
