Students
Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:
- Business management student Marie-Lou Morin is featured in an article in The Suburban. It reports that Morin, a competitive synchronized swimmer, has received a $4,000 bursary through the Quebec Foundation for Athletic Excellence.
- A CNW release announces that another Concordia student athlete, wrestler Linda Morais, is among Hydro-Quebec's 2015 Bursary Program recipients. The release is picked up by Shaw Connect and Money News.
- Third-year Concordia student Claudia Di Iorio is quoted in an article in Le Progrès de Saint-Léonard about 'Pour Sarah', the TVA program based on the experiences of Di Iorio, who survived a car crash 2010 after getting into a car with a man who had been drinking. The article relates that Di Iorio often speaks in schools about the dangers of drinking and driving.
- Blogger Emmanuelle Côté posts a review on NaNa Toulouse of Geneviève Everell's latest cooking book, Tartare à la maison.
- An article in The Prince George Citizen about young voter apathy mentions VoteNote, a mobile application developed by Matthew Heuman and a group of fellow-journalism students who hope to boost voter turnout by youths in next month's federal election. The VoteNote app uses GPS technology to identify a given voter's riding district and provide relevant riding information.
