Various issues concerning Concordia University are often reported on by news outlets. Here is the most recent coverage pertaining to the institution:
- University Affairs links to an editorial in last Friday's Montreal Gazette about Concordia's report on its review of the university's handling of sexual violence.
- Engineering student Anthony Boulos and his Opus transit pass project continue to garner media interest. Boulos led an initiative with Concordia to allow students to electronically transfer requests to the Société de Transport de Montréal (STM) for the STM's reduced-fare OPUS transit pass. The university has agreed to allow such transfer of student information through the My Concordia portal. The original Montreal Gazettearticle on the story, published last Thursday, is reprised by Montreal News and Boulos discussed the project in an interview on CBC's Daybreak last Friday morning (no link available). The story is also reported by CTV Montreal (text and video, where Boulos is quoted and appears on-camera), CJAD News and Noticias Montreal (in Spanish). According to one report, the STM is hoping to extend the Concordia Opus card project to other schools.
- The Montreal Gazette, writing about Montreal's Festival des films du monde (FFM), relates how the FFM's Serge Losique, founder of the Concordia Conservatory of Cinematographic Art, which no longer is in operation, invited Henri Langlois, co-founder of the Cinémathèque française, to teach at Concordia.
- Radio-Canada.ca writes about reported drops in enrolment of French international students at Quebec universities following last winter's announcement that French students would no longer be able to benefit from the same lower tuition as Quebecers. The news article states, however, that the level of enrolment of French students at Concordia remains stable, despite the tuition hike for that category of international students.
- Montreal Rampage lists Concordia among major Montreal employers that publish job postings on their own websites, as opposed to specialized job search sites.
