Students

Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:

  • Concordia journalism student Matthew Heuman is quoted extensively in a Montreal Gazette article about the anticipated negative impact on voter turnout from new voter identification requirements. The interest in Heuman stems from the mobile application he and a group of other Concordia students developed and marketed called "VoteNote", which it was hoped would encourage younger Canadians to get out and vote in the October federal election. The application uses GPS technology to identify a given voter's riding district and to provide relevant riding information.
  • A Concordia-produced video is picked up by Huffington Post for an article on Montreal ranking first in Canada and eighth in the world in the Quacquarelli Symonds "Best Student Cities Index". The video is a montage of Concordia students explaining what they think makes Montreal a great university city.
