Students

Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:

  • The Toronto Star reports that psychology student Ecaterina Guica has won a silver medal in women's judo at the Pan Am Games in Toronto. The news release is reprised by Inside Belleville.
  • Fine arts master's student Sonny Assu (fibres, interdisciplinary art) is profiled in a Vancouver Sun blog post.
  • The Lethbridge Herald is the latest to report on Vote Note, a new smartphone application whose developer, Concordia journalism student Matthew Heuman, hopes will counter voter apathy, notably among younger Canadians, by making it easier for voters to sort through election-related information. The app uses GPS technology to identify a given voter's riding district and provide relevant candidate names, polling station locations and a clock that counts down to election day, expected in October.
  • Concordia theatre student Gabe Meacher is featured, along with co-artistic producers of the stage musical Rock the System, in a piece in the online edition of the Kingston Whig Standard.
