Students
Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:
- CBC.ca and ChrisD.ca join news outlets that have picked up an earlier Canadian Press story about a new smartphone application whose developer, Concordia journalism student Matthew Heuman, hopes to combat voter apathy, notably among younger Canadians, by making it easier for voters to sort through election-related information. The Vote Note app uses GPS technology to identify a given voter's riding district. It also provides relevant candidate names, polling station locations and a clock that counts down to election day, expected in October.
- The Manitoban runs a story about Canada's participation in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup written by Julian McKenzie, a Concordia student and sports editor at The Link.
- Baron Mag announces the Steamroller Project, taking place Saturday, July 18 in Val-David, north of Montreal. The project, a collaborative effort of a group of fine arts students in the print media concentration and the Atelier de l’île artists' cooperative, involves the creation of large woodcut prints using a steamroller.
- The Jamaica Gleaner reprises an earlier article profiling four international students, including JMSB marketing student Ukpong Etang, who have been accepted for a five-week summer internship with the GraceKennedy Group of Companies in Jamaica.
