  • Numerous media carry reports on research by civil engineering graduate Ryan Calder into how Canadian water regulation would be improved by decentralization. The paper, co-authored by assistant professor Ketra Schmitt from the Centre for Engineering in Society and published in the International Journal of Water, formed the basis for Calder's recent MASc thesis. The original Concordia news release on the research is reprised by Science Daily, Health Medicine Network, Medical News Today, Science Newsline, Today Topics and phys.org.
  • SantĂ© Log and Bright Surf report on Concordia research led by recent PhD graduate in clinical psychology Sabrina Chiarella into how children read emotions in others. The study demonstrates how infants can detect whether a person’s emotions are appropriate for a given situation.
  • The work of engineering professor Christian Moreau, Canadian Research Chair in Thermal Spray and Surface Engineering, is featured in a piece in CPCA Prime Time News, a publication of the Canadian Paint and Coatings Association. The article mentions that Moreau is a co-director of Concordia's Thermal Spray and Multiphase Flow Lab, with Ali Dolatabadi, professor and graduate program director in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. The Moreau feature is found by scrolling roughly two-thirds of the way down the page.
  • A Press-News release reports that alumna Caroline Fitzpatrick, a post-doctoral fellow at the PERFORM Centre, is a co-author of a study on the beneficial impact of structured extracurricular sports on childrens' engagement in the classroom. The release is picked up by NewsWise and Health News Digest.
