Researchers in the news
The scholarly work of Concordia faculty and researchers informs and improves society on many issues that affect our daily lives. Visit the Research section to read news stories involving research at Concordia, or read the most recent items here:
- La Presse + writes about a Concordia study of the effect of wireless transmitters on certain hospital equipment and whether they pose a danger to patients. The study led by recent electrical engineering doctoral graduate Mehdi Ardavan and co-authored by Christopher Trueman, professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, finds that the risk of such interference is very small when hospital staff and visitors keep their wireless devices further than arm’s length from medical equipment. The Association for Computing Machinery provides a link to an earlier Concordia news service release on the research. The study was originally published in the journal IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility.
- Thanh Dang-Vu, professor in the Department of Exercise Science, speaks to Notre Santé about his research into the science of sleep.
