Expert commentators

Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • Marc Lafrance, assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, makes another of his radio appearances on "La chaire des genres," a regular feature of the Radio Canada program Médium large. In this edition, Lafrance talks about a recent survey in Esquire about how men and women communicate in their sexual relations.
  • The Calgary Herald reprises an earlier article quoting Donald Boisvert, associate professor and Chair in the Department of Religion, about Pope Francis declaring that the slaughter of Armenians by Ottoman Turks a century ago was genocide on a scale with Nazism and Stalinism.
  • Kyle Matthews, Senior Deputy Director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies, appears on CBC's Homerun to discuss the above-mentioned papal declaration. The Matthews audio link is found in a list of links below the show banner. It's titled Pope Francis calls the killings of Armenians by Ottoman Turks 'the first genocide of the 20th century'.
  • A blog on the UQTR university news service En Tête mentions that Alain Leroux, associate professor in the Department of Exercise Science, sat on a jury that evaluated the thesis of UQTR psychology doctoral candidate Jean-Alexandre Charland-Boucher.
