Students

Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:

  • A CNW/Telbec release about the recent Ubisoft Game Lab Competition in Montreal mentions that teams of students from Concordia shared in the honours at the event, involving students from ten universities across Quebec. It says one group of Concordians won a $2,000 bursary for Best Game Design (Paradoxanity: Time Goes BOO), another won $2,000 for Best Creativity and Theme Integration (Ravens), and a third shared in a $2000 prize for Best Accessibility (Cheesy Journey). The release is picked up by Le Lézard, istockanalyst, Money, Globe Advisor and Bloomberg Business.
  • Human Rights in Ireland publishes an extract of Performing Precarity: Asylum Seekers in Ireland and the Struggle Against Direct Provision, a paper written by Concordia student Jordana Starkman and presented at a recent conference of the School of Canadian Irish Studies. "Direct Provision" refers to a government system of assistance for asylum seekers and their families as they await decisions on their asylum applications.
