  • The Montreal Gazette publishes a story that looks at the importance of creativity in Montreal’s economy. The feature is part of the series - Montreal Reimagined, produced in partnership with the newspaper. Today’s story highlights the work of Jonathan Lessard, assistant professor in the Department of Design and Computation Arts and a member of the board of the Centre for Technoculture, Art and Games; Deborah Dysart-Gale, associate professor and chair of the Centre for Engineering in Society and co-founder of District3; and Alice Ming Wai Jim, associate professor in the Department of Art History. Also featured is a video interview about family businesses with Alexandra Dawson, associate professor in the Department of Management and director of the Concordia Small Business Consulting Bureau.
  • La Presse + writes about In Tune, a video game that teaches men and women about the importance of consent, using scenes depicting different situations of physical contact and dialogue. The game is from Tweed Couch Games, an independent studio launched by three students at the Technoculture Art and Games (TAG) lab: Jessica Rose Marcotte, Allison Cole, and Zach Miller. They developed the game in collaboration with Mia Consalvo, professor in the Department of Communication Studies and Canada Research Chair in game studies and design.
  • An article in La Presse + about an observed return of beards among fashion-conscious men quotes from the book The Body Social, written by Anthony Synnott, professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. In the book, Synnott writes about how beards have fallen in and out of favour during different social movements since the 1960's.
  • Newsweek, Vue Weekly, Twin Cities, Latina and Wochenblatte (in German) are the latest to report on a study conducted by Jim Pfaus, professor in the Department of Psychology, and Nicole Prause, an associate research scientist in UCLA's Department of Psychiatry, that contradicts earlier claims that the more erotica men watch, the likelier they are to experience erectile problems.
  • Cosmopolitan writes about another study by psychology professor Jim Pfaus that looks into the brain chemistry of romantic liaisons.
  • NRC publishes an article, in Dutch, about research led by Krista Byers-Heinlein, assistant professor in the Department of Psychology, on the impact of bilingualism on children's early cognitive development.
