Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- Kyle Matthews, senior deputy director and lead researcher at the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies(MIGS), appeared on CBC’s Day 6, on Sunday, to debate journalist Gwynne Dyer on whether Canada’s engagement in Iraq and Syria is morally justified. Please note: The CBC link to the program was not immediately available due to technical difficulties reported by the broadcaster. The program was re-broadcast by over 40 NPR stations across the U.S. (no link available).
- Accountancy professor and Jarislowsky Chair in Corporate Governance Michel Magnan is quoted in a brief on Stockwatch summarizing a Globe And Mail news report from last Thursday about the compensation packages that were promised to two retired executives of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Magnan is quoted also in an article in the Huffington Post, where he is wrongly identified as "Claude Magnan".
- Isabelle Dostaler, associate professor in the Department of Management, was interviewed last Saturday on the Radio Canada program Faut pas croire tout ce qu'on dit on the topic of airline security. The interview was conducted in the context of last week's crash of a Germanwings Airbus A320 in the Alps. The Dostaler segment is found through the sixth link, titled "Entrevue avec Isabelle Dostaler professeure de stratégie à l'U. Concordia". It is at the 12h36 mark of the program.
