Netanyahu’s speech to Congress

The Israeli prime minister addressed a joint session of the U.S. Congress earlier this week, at the invitation of Republican House Speaker John Boehner. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says she was “saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States” contained in Netanyahu’s reiteration of the threat posed by Iran. Some observers suggest the intended audience for his speech may well have been voters back home in Israel who will be going to the polls in just under two weeks.
