Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- History professor Frank Chalk is quoted in an article in LaPresse.ca about the marked disparity in the amount of media coverage of the recent mass-killings by Boko Haram jihadists in Nigeria and the deadly Charlie Hebdo attack.
- Brice Jones, doctoral candidate and lecturer in the Department of Religion, is mentioned in an article in Live Science about how ancient documents are being obtained by taking apart Egyptian mummy masks. Jones is among the scholars mentioned who have expressed concern that the process of retrieving the ancient texts involves the destruction of the masks.
- Brice Jones is quoted again in a separate article in The Telegraph on concerns about the handling of ancient Egyptian and Roman manuscripts. The article is a repeat of one posted in the same publication in late-December.
