Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- Accountancy professor Michel Magnan, interim director of the Desjardins Centre for Innovation in Business Finance, is quoted in an article in The Hamilton Spectator about executive expense claims at hospitals in the Hamilton, Ontario area. Magnan is also quoted in related articles in The Hamilton Spectator about Hamilton hospitals cutting executive expenses, health-sector CEO spending and health-sector car expenses. The lead-story is reprised by insidehalton.com.
- Michel Magnan is quoted also in an article in the Cambridge Times about hospitals in the Hamilton area donating money to each other through their respective foundations.
- The Montreal Gazette and the National Post publish letters to the editor from economics professor Ian Irvine in which he writes about the likely impact of currency values on prices.
- The French-language service of Radio Canada International posts a story online, with audio of an interview, in which associate professor of religion and theology André Gagné shares his insight into how the contents of sacred texts can be interpreted as incitements to religious violence. The online story includes a Concordia-produced video of Gagné and also links back to an opinion piece by Gagné on the same subject last month in Le Devoir.
