Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- The Gazette carries an op-ed by Theresa Bianco, a lecturer in the Department of Psychology, that addresses the benefits of human interaction with animals and addresses a previously published opinion piece that advocated against pet ownership.
- Grenier aux nouvelles reports on the Concours DUX 2015, a competition that rewards marketing efforts aimed at improving nutritional health. The article mentions that Jordan LeBel, director of the EMBA program and director of the Luc Beauregard Centre for Excellence in Communications Research at the John Molson School of Business, heads the jury for the Communications category of the competition.
- Politics web and Black Star News reprint a letter to the Director-General of the BBC. The letter was signed by 28 scholars, researchers, historians and journalists, including Frank Chalk, director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies. The group is demanding an apology for the BBC’s broadcast of the documentary “Rwanda’s Untold Story,” saying it revises and distorts the reality of the 1994 genocide.
