Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:

  • The New York Times publishes an op-ed about “unschoolers,” parents who are choosing to not send their children to school and are leaving it up to children to teach themselves. The story pulls a quote from an article by The Montreal Gazette by Sandra Martin-Chang, professor in the Department of Education, who is one of the few researchers to investigate the success of home-schooling.

  • La Presse Canadienne features a story about the shooting of Michael Brown, a young African American teenager, who was killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. The article quotes Ted Rutland, professor in Geography, Planning and Environment who was an organizer of the protest.

  • An op-ed about the Islamic State (IS) written by Yakub Halabi, a research fellow at the Azrieli Institute of Israel Studies, is published by i24News.
