Expert commentators
Concordia faculty and researchers are regularly asked to offer expert, informed opinions on many of today's most pressing problems. Read some of the latest news items about Concordians:
- The Globe and Mail (online edition) runs an opinion piece by Frances Shaver, professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, about the reasons behind her opposition to Bill C-36, the government’s legislation on prostitution. Our Windsor writes about the predominance of witnesses with strong evangelical ties at the hearings into Bill C-36 and mentions Shaver saying her research and that of many of her colleagues does not support the legislation.
- The Australian Broadcasting Corporation aired a story about the impact of container shipping on the global economy and quotes Brian Slack, distinguished professor emeritus in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment, about the development of the standard-sized container.
- Canadian Grocer quotes Lea Katsanis, professor in the Department of Marketing, in an article about the expansion of Sobey’s Bonichoix banner.
