  • Research conducted by Aaron Johnson, professor in the Department of Psychology, investigated the common problem of blurred sight, which can be caused by factors like changes in distance between objects, as well as vision disorders like near-sightedness, far-sightedness and astigmatism. The study found that human sight is still sensitive to certain kinds of changes in our visual environment – even while performing a difficult task. The research is carried by Business Standard, IANS live, Yahoo! News India, Counsel & Heal, Vancouver Desi, Press-News, Medical Xpress, Chennai Online, Science Newsline Technology, Daiji World and Canada Health Network.

  • Mark Ellenbogen, professor in the Department of Psychology and a CRDH researcher, conducted a study in collaboration with graduate student, Rami Nijjar, which revealed that children of parents with Bipolar Disorder are more susceptible to psychosocial problems, most notably risky sexual behaviour. The study demonstrated the need for psychiatry to implicate the entire family to ensure everyone has the coping skills needed to live with the illness. The story was covered by Healio: Psychiatric Annals and Nouvelles de la Presse Canadienne.
