The real risks of growing up with bipolar parents

Agence QMI published an article about a study conducted by Mark Ellenbogen, professor in the Department of Psychology and a CRDH researcher, in collaboration with graduate student, Rami Nijjar. Their study revealed that children of parents with Bipolar Disorder are more susceptible to psychosocial problems, most notably risky sexual behaviour. The study demonstrated the need for psychiatry to implicate the entire family to ensure everyone has the coping skills needed to live with the illness The article was reprised by Le Journal de Quèbec, Le Journal de Montréal, Canoë Santé and TVA Nouvelles. La Presse Canadienne also published an article about the research, which was reprised by La Presse, Radio-Canada, Le Journal Métro, La Tribune, L’Actualité, MSN Technologie, and 98,5 FM.
