Students in the news

Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:

  • A team of students from Concordia and McGill won the international competition Shell Ideas 360, beating out more than 600 submissions to emerge as the only North American competitors in the top five presenting to an international panel of judges in Amsterdam. Their project involves building Skywells, large sail-like structures with a hydrophobic coating to collect dew that forms during the night. In conceiving the Skywells, the three students, who grew up in the United Arab Emirates, were inspired by the practices of the nomadic Bedouin people: Le Journal de Montréal and Le Journal Québec. A joint press release was issued by Concordia and McGill on their win: Globe Advisor, CNW (English), CNW Telbec (French) Morningstar, Le Lézard.

  • The Leader-Post interviews Concordia Stingers Kris Bastien who was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders during this week’s CFL draft.
