Students in the news
Current students at Concordia do outstanding academic work and get involved in community projects that improve our quality of life. See what they've been up to:
- Two Concordia Stingers, Kristopher Bastien and Travis Bent, have been selected to play for the Saskatchewan Rough Riders: Saskatoon Homepage, CBC News Saskatchewan, News Talk 980, Newstalk 650, and AM 1150. The Calgary Herald also features a story about Stingers defensive lineman, Quinn Smith, and linebacker, Max Caron, who were selected for the Calgary Stampeders.
- A similar story appears in the Calgary Sun. The Canadian Press publishes a story about the CFL draft that mentions Quinn Smith. The story is carried by Globe and Mail, Global Montreal,The Toronto Star and Canada.com. AM 630 features an article on their website of the Edmonton Eskimos top draft picks, which included Quinn Smith. A separate story with Quinn Smith appears in The Calgary Sun about testing positive for a banned substance and still being drafted for the CFL.
- The McGill Reporter features a story about the Skywell project developed by McGill student Sami Sayegh in collaboration with Concordia students, Al-Hurr Al-Dalli and Charles Gedeon. Their project would harvest dew to use as drinking water to help accessibility to water in the world’s most arid regions. They are currently finalists in the global student competition Shell Ideas360 and are the only North American team in the competition.
- Judith Boily Valois, a graduate student in the Faculty of Fine Arts, will exhibit her work at the 2nd Festival Néa Empeira at the Maison Théâtre Côte in Mascouche: La Revue.
