Elections in Iraq

On April 30, Iraqis headed to the polls in the fourth election since Saddam Hussein’s ousterin 2003. For Iraq, this is the first time the campaign and elections are taking place outside of the bracket of security offered by the U.S. and coalition forces. Henri Habib, distinguished professor emeritus in the Department of Political Science, can share his insight into the sensitivities surrounding this election.
